Beginning Digital Photography with "A Beginner's Mind"

Sunday, June 7, 10:00 AM -1:00 PM
Berkeley

Learn digital camera basics from Laney College instructor Joan Bobkoff (not a zen master but a picmaven) and start taking images with a beginner's mind open to many possible ways to interpret the world around you as you learn and practice techniques that will make you a better photographer immediately.

Getting ready for vacation? Take command of your camera's functions! Learn to work intuitively with your DSLR and capture your memories with ease. Renowned Laney College Photo instructor (where she has taught for the last 9 years) will show you concepts and details necessary to use your digital camera to best effect with demos on exposure fundamentals, shutter speed, depth of field, and f/stops.

This class is great as a refresher! Whether you are new to photography or have been shooting for a while, this is the class you need to gain creative control and in-depth understanding your camera's important features. Topics include hands-on demos of camera operation including focusing, shutter speed, aperture, and white balance. Learn to harness the histogram for better exposures, correct color problems with in-camera adjustments and dramatically improve the quality of your photo images.

Bring your camera and its manual to the workshop and be prepared to shoot.
