About the Instructors
Edward Miller
After graduating from the Chicago Art Institute with a MFA, Edward
Miller embarked on his career as a commercial photographer, working for
advertising agencies, graphic designers, manufacturers, retailers,
corporations, and magazine editors. Miller has taught a variety
of conventional film photography courses including Introduction to Large
Format and Advanced Large Format Photography at the Academy of Art.
Andrea McLaughlin
grew up in a family of photographers. She
is an award winning fine-art photographer who has owned Photolab for over 30 years, loves running a business and
working with all kinds of photographers! Andrea has curated and exhibited over 130
photographers' work in the Picturish Gallery since 1991.

Joan Bobkoff
has been a freelance photographer and photo
instructor for over 20 years. She is currently an adjunct professor in
the Laney College Photography Department. Ms. Bobkoff teaches privately
and conducts workshops for people of all ages and experience levels and
from a wide range of backgrounds. Joan Bobkoff's own documentary and
fine art work has been published and exhibited nationally.

Kristin Satzman
is an award winning fine-art photographer who has
worked in the field for over 15 years. She is a master printer and an
expert in traditional photographic processes and photographic
restoration. Her work has been exhibited and published nationally.

Mike Moya
A graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography with a Bachelors Degree in
Photography, Michael Moya founded Moya Fotografx in 1986, whose clients
included Fortune 500 companies such as Safeway, Pacific Telesis, United
Parcel Service, Kaiser Permanente, YMCA, AT&T, Southwest Airlines
(partial list). In addition to working with local high school students,
Michael Moya now teaches advanced photography at Laney College in
Oakland and conducts workshops and classes in a variety of specialized
photographic techniques.
