Michael Moya's Advanced Photography Student Exhibit |
|
The Picturish Gallery presents work by eight Bay
Area photographers, students at Laney College: The exhibit promotes the fine art of black and white film and the silver gelatin print. The photographers are all advanced students of Michael Moya, Laney Photo Department instructor and a working professional photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area. All eight have been serious photographers for many years; several are professionals. The Laney photographers, chose the once
ubiquitous (now increasingly rare) silver gelatin print as the ideal
medium for their fine art photography. Working with master
photographer Michael Moya, they made darkroom silver gelatin prints
from their work in experimental landscapes, contemporary still lifes,
portraits and urban street environments, all using black and white
film. The exhibit will run from August 7 to September 18, 2010 at the
Picturish Gallery, 2235 Fifth Street in Berkeley.
